Light Blue andOrange - 1914, somewhere in Europe. Not far from Asia Minor. A Greek family leads a traditional life. Suddenly, war breaks out between Greece and Turkey, and the family has but a day to leave. Stefanos Sitaras, directing this period drama/epic at the age of 14, portrays the nature of deportation historically, symbolicly and emotionally. Abandoning almost completely the narrative aspect, the director focuses on emotions and conveys messages that are true of any deportation, at any historical period. Emphasizing more on the nature of deportation, rather than the history behind it, a lyrical, allegorical odyssey of feelings and symbols begins. Directed by: Stefanos SITARAS
