Born-again Christian and all-American hero, CIA Agent William Tecumseh Lee arrives in Afghanistan with a mission to defeat the Taliban and find Osama Bin Laden.  He interrogates young American John Walker Lindh who had joined the Taliban prior to 9/11. A riot breaks out. Will is killed and John is blamed for his death. Now marooned on earth as a restless spirit, Will finds as his sole companions, John Walker Lindh and another restless spirit, Cpt. John Brown, the Abolitionist. Believing God has left him on earth to complete his mission, and hoping to accomplish what he could not attain in life, Will strikes out only to discover on his journey a more urgent purpose that requires the assitance of his enemy, the American Taliban, John Walker Lindh.
